Florida Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (FBAT)

Effective July 1, 2012, the Florida Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test (FBAT) will be administered in the Testing Center at the Student Services Center located at the Niceville Campus. Registration will be immediately prior to the exam. You will have 2½ hours to take the FBAT.

On the day of the test, you will need to bring payment in the amount of $35.00, a photo ID (Florida driver's license or Florida ID card), and verification of social security number (either social security card or military ID with social security number).

The FBAT is an exam that is required for all Northwest Florida State College students who are entering the Law Enforcement or Corrections programs. Students planning to enroll in these programs should contact the Public Safety Department for details: (850) 729-5378. Non-Northwest Florida State College students who are required to take the FBAT for employment consideration with Florida agencies are also eligible to test at the Testing Center.

Study guides for the FBAT are available at any bookstore. You may also find it helpful to search online for additional resources and practice exams.

The test is administered online and results are available the day of the test.

Appointments are required at the Niceville campus for testing and can be made by visiting Register Blast.
