NWF State College Foundation Receives Generous Donations for Indoor Practice Facility

NICEVILLE, FL— The NWF State College Foundation recently received two major donations for the Raider Athletics Indoor Practice Facility.

Dr. Jerry “Doc” Hollingsworth, who contributed $25,000 to the campaign, was all smiles as he threw out the first pitch for the NWF Raider Baseball team on Monday, April 16, 2018. He has been involved with youth and athletics most of his life. He was the team doctor for Choctawhatchee, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville high schools for nearly 35 years and helped establish the All-Sports Association of Northwest Florida, which honored him with its Community Service Award for helping adolescents in athletics. He also helped found the first chapter of Special Olympics in Florida.

Cathy and Mike Marcantonio and their sons, Matty and Will, presented a gift of $10,000 for the Step Up to the Plate Campaign at the final home game of the NWF Raider Baseball team on April 25, 2018. The Marcantonios own and operate Marcantonio Dentistry. Their practice focuses on pediatric and adolescent dentistry. Dr. Cathy Marcantonio volunteers her time with community outreach programs such as Northwest Florida State College Give Kids a Smile Day and Project Dentists Care. She also visits schools to educate teachers and students about dental care during National Children’s Dental Health Month. Dr. Mike Marcantonio is involved in various community projects, has participated in health fairs, and donates his time and services to various nonprofit organizations.
