Northwest Florida State College Foundation Receives Generous Donation for Indoor Practice Facility

NICEVILLE, FL— Longtime friend and supporter of Northwest Florida State College, Eileen Arpke, stepped up to the plate once again by presenting a check of $50,000 for the Raider Athletics Indoor Practice Facility.

In the past, Ms. Arpke has established the Charles and Eileen Arpke Scholarship, named the Charles K. and Eileen H. Arpke Conference Room, and strongly supported several other areas of the college including the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, President’s Circle and the Institute of Senior Professionals. Her gift of $50,000 helps close the gap on the necessary funds needed to construct the Indoor Practice Facility.

“We can’t thank donors like Ms. Arpke enough,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, President. “This generous contribution brings us one step closer to breaking ground on the facility that our student athletes need to continue to grow.”

The NWF Raiders Athletics “Step Up to the Plate” campaign is designed to raise funds to build an Indoor Practice Facility for the Baseball and Softball teams. As proposed, the 10,000 square-foot, brick facility will contain five all-purpose tunnels with Burbank Sports nets, artificial turf flooring, LED lighting inside, exterior lighting for safety and will be fully climate controlled for year-round practice.

Once complete, this facility will help the teams build upon their record of success on the field.  Even more importantly, it will provide a consistent routine for NWF student-athletes which will improve the quality of their academic experience.

If you would like to make a gift to help NWF complete this project or would like more information on the campaign/facility, please contact the Foundation office at (850) 729-5357 or visit www.nwfscfoundation.org.
