NWFSC Forensics Speech and Debate Team Triumphs at FCSAA State Championship

NICEVILLE, Fla. – On February 9th and 10th, 2024, the Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) Forensics Speech and Debate Team triumphed, demonstrating exceptional skills at the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Championship. Held virtually, students from 28 schools within the Florida College System competed.

The NWFSC team placed in eleven competitions, with four students winning individual honors. Among them, Aleksandria Herr received the Shira Brownstein Award, which commemorates Tallahassee Community College forensics team member Shira Brownstein, who lost her battle with scleroderma in 2011. The award is bestowed upon the student who best exemplifies the spirit of fellowship, generosity, humility, and service to the forensics community.

The Florida College System Activities Association, Incorporated (FCSAA), is a statewide non-profit corporation that regulates, coordinates, and promotes intercollegiate activities in Athletics, Brain Bowl, Forensics, Model United Nations, Music, Student Government, Student Publications, and Theatre. Membership in the FCSAA is open to the 28 colleges in the Florida College System.
