NICEVILLE, Fla. – The Law Enforcement Academy at Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) proudly announces the graduation of its latest class of cadets. These dedicated individuals are now ready to serve and protect their communities as members of local law enforcement agencies, including the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, and Niceville Police Department.
“The success of the NWFSC Law Enforcement Academy is a direct result of the hard work and sacrifice of its students, as well as the exceptional adjunct instructors who are current and retired law enforcement officers,” said Wes Haggan, Law Enforcement Coordinator at the Public Safety Training Center on Northwest Florida State College Niceville Campus. “These instructors not only train new recruits but also provide ongoing education for sworn officers—many of whom are alumni of the academy.
“We have several placed to serve and some of our graduates that were not sponsored are actively seeking employment with local law enforcement, including Crestview Police Department, Fort Walton Beach Police Department, Valparaiso Police Department, and Shalimar Police Department,” added Haggan. “These graduates are eager to begin their careers and make a positive impact in their communities.”
The academy’s Public Safety Training Center plays a pivotal role by supporting certified officers from other states who are seeking to become sworn in Florida. This crucial support network upholds the highest standards of training for both new recruits and experienced officers. NWFSC’s dedication to law enforcement training remains a cornerstone in preparing future officers while strengthening the skills of those already serving across the region.
