Associate in Science
The Northwest Florida State College Engineering Technology program prepares students for employment and/or provides additional training for those employed in the manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, or other related industries. The program includes communication skills, technical competency, safe and efficient work practices and a combination of theory and laboratory activities necessary to gain the skills to support engineering design, processes, production, testing, and product quality.
The Engineering Technology – Electronics program prepares you for a career as an Electronics Technician. You will receive instruction in electrical/electronic principles, digital fundamentals, solid state, and basic robotics repair. The skills learned in this program will help you meet the demands required to maintain and troubleshoot high-tech electronic equipment. To be successful in this industry, you should be interested in working with your hands and enjoy the challenges of programming and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment. The core of the program has been aligned with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council’s (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) certificate. Students completing the program are eligible to take the MSSC’s Certified Production Technician exam.
