NWF State College is going tobacco-free.
Beginning January 1, 2019, the use of all tobacco products is prohibited at all campuses and centers of Northwest Florida State College.
Banned Substances
All tobacco products are included in the tobacco-free policy. This includes:
- E-cigarettes
- Vaping
- Smokeless tobacco
Will there be designated smoking areas?
No, the tobacco-free designation means that all facilities, properties and vehicles at all NWF State College locations are included in this policy. No tobacco use will be allowed anywhere on NWF State College property.
To whom does this policy apply?
This policy applies to any and all individuals located on NWF State College property, including faculty, staff, students, visitors and guests.
In addition, no tobacco-related advertising or sponsorship will be permitted on NWF property, at NWF sponsored events, or in publications produced by NWF.
What tobacco cessation resources are available?
NWF State College employees may contact Human Resources at (850) 729-5365 for more information on upcoming cessation classes. Pre-registration is required. NWF State College students seeking cessation resources may contact the Office of Student Development & Campus Engagement at (850) 729-5348.
Tobacco Free Florida is a Florida Department of Health program and offers a multitude of resources on its website, including tips on quitting.
